Photography 2023

The Fall captures a moment with my friend and drag mother, Kat. I created this portrait after being invited into her drag world, a space that offered warmth, freedom and belonging when I felt caged in my own life. Kat appeared as a fallen angel, expressing strength and vulnerability.
As a Belfast queer artist and host of queer cabaret living in Scotland, she carries many identities and lived struggles. The image reflects how drag holds pain and tenderness, and how camp allows us to survive through theatrical beauty.
The Fall is about choosing to fall into community, into a safer place where we are seen and held.
