It is based on a real piece of news of a women getting raped by the street in public park by her
unmarried husband in China. There were many pedestrians taking photos or videos of this
poor victim’s naked body while no one offered to help.
After people’s anger raised the popularity and heat of this news, the police and local
government announced that they have found out they two were an unmarried couple as
tourists from other cities. Those two have been back home together after police’s efforts on
their negotiation.
No crime. Nothing happened after all these.
Then this news is banned to discuss and could not be found online now.
I felt sad and angry for this situation so I used bananas to recreate my own story that shows
how women suffer under patriarchy.
So I printed my artwork and invited al my audience to step on my artwork.
I plan to do more practice about women’s suffering based on real case and my lived
experience. Those are my metaphors and practice about it.
